RCB beats CSK after 17 years in Chepauk..!

RCB beats CSK after 17 years in Chepauk..!

Under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, RCB last defeated CSK by 14 runs in 2008. After that, today on 28 March 2025, under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, they succeeded in winning by 50 runs. Rajat Patidar's captaincy was very commendable, he made aggressive batting today, changes in bowling at certain periods, these changes were the key to RCB's victory.

Dhoni's incredible stumping

CSK won the toss again at the Chepauk Stadium and invited RCB to bat first. Where Virat Kohli and Phil Salt enter the field to open. As soon as he enters the field, Phil Salt starts batting aggressively. But there is a little obstacle for Virat Kohli from the other side. Then, seeing Phil Salt's aggression, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad brings Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed into the bowling in the 5th over and he releases the ball outside the off stump in the last ball, Phil Salt misses on that ball, his small mistake costs him dearly. As soon as the ball comes to Dhoni's hands, he stumps Dhoni with lightning speed, Phil Salt thinks that he is not out, but when the third umpire shows it on the display, he and the audience, commentators and all the players are surprised because Dhoni stumped with his safe hands and eyelids. And he had shown similar agility in the previous match as well, dismissing Suryakumar Yadav. Indeed, Dhoni's agility and ability to understand the innings from behind the wicket is very commendable at the age of 43.

RCB Creates Royal challenge for CSK

On the one hand, wickets were falling at regular intervals, but RCB's strategy was completely clear. On the same pitch where other teams failed to put a score above 160 on the scoreboard, RCB's batting aggressively scored 195 runs at a run rate of 9.50. The Chepauk pitch in particular has been very useful for bowling, where the average first innings score is 150. On such a pitch, RCB's batting, mainly due to the batting of captain Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal and the batting of Tim David in the final over, helped RCB to make a good score. Rajat Patidar in particular scored his first half-century for RCB as captain. CSK bowlers bowled well and took wickets but failed to disrupt RCB's batting strategy.

Chennai Express fails in front of RCB Bowling Attack

The CSK  batsman came out on the pitch to chase a huge target of 196. Due to poor bowling by CSK, RCB put up a good score but it was not as easy as it seemed because the Chennai pitch is bowling friendly and keeping this in mind, captain Rajat Patidar took full advantage of it and managed to get CSK out of the match in the powerplay itself. RCK bowled so well that Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets in his first over, mainly dismissing Captain Gaikwad who was in form for a duck. Due to poor batting, CSK had their lowest score in the powerplay this season at 30/3. As wickets were falling on one side, Rachin Ravindra was running the scoreboard on the pitch from the other side. But Rajat Patidar brought in Yash Dayal and dismissed him on his first ball, and RCB completely dominated the matches. Rajat Patidar's constantly changing bowling strategy did not allow CSK to enter the matches. In RCB's bowling, Hazlewood, Livingstone and Dayal took 2 wickets each and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket. Although the Chepauk pitch was favorable for bowling, RCB's strategy and their approach to winning were decisive in these matches and RCB defeated CSK by 50 runs at their home ground.

RCB's performance and their strategy are very commendable. Especially the leadership of Captain Rajat Patidar, he batted well and led RCB to the top of the points table. Even though RCB is at the top of the points table today, they should forget about this victory and prepare for the new match with a new strategy, maintain consistency in performance and play a team game to move towards winning the title.

Aggressive SRH Batting Falls Short as LSG Clinch Victory..!

SRH bows down to Lucknow Supergiant's dominance..!

In this thrilling match, Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) gave an absolutely powerful and perfect performance, which led them to an easy 5-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Even though SRH batsmen were trying to replicate their aggressive batting, LSG bowling and batting proved to be aggressive in the match and ensured their victory.

Shardul Thakur's brilliant bowling

SRH batsmen had a chance to make a comeback to their aggressive game. However, Lucknow bowlers showed their strength at a very good level. Shardul Thakur, who remained unsold in the IPL auction, was included in LSG due to Mohsin Khan's injury and he immediately gave his team a big boost. Shardul gave a big blow to SRH's aggressive batting by dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan for duck in the first over. Kishan, who had scored a century in the previous match, was also dismissed cheaply by Shardul, creating a worry among the SRH batsmen.

Nicholas Pooran's aggressive batting: LSG's victory

While chasing the target, LSG opener Aiden Markram was dismissed cheaply. After that, Nicholas Pooran once again showed the aggressive form he showed in the previous match. Pooran started the aggressive batting and gave LSG 78 runs in the powerplay. He shared a century partnership for the 2nd wicket with Mitchell Marsh and troubled the SRH bowlers with a blistering 70 runs in 26 balls.

Mitchell Marsh also reached his half-century and scored 52 runs. Both the batsmen established their dominance on the road to victory for LSG. LSG's team gave their other batsmen a chance and they came close to victory. Finally, David Miller and Abdul Samad closed the match and LSG won by 5 wickets over SRH.

Shardul and Pooran: Key factors in LSG's victory

Shardul Thakur's bowling gave LSG a big advantage in this match. He took 4 wickets and became the most important player of the match. Shardul proved with his performance how important it was to include him in the Lucknow team.

On the other hand, Nicholas Pooran changed the face of the match with his aggressive batting. His strong hitting helped LSG achieve a big goal. Pooran proved from the match that he is a big player and his innings gave LSG the victory.

Conclusion

SRH's aggressive batting attempt failed in this match as LSG's bowlers put them under immense pressure. Shardul Thakur's amazing bowling and Nicholas Pooran's aggressive innings became the main reason for LSG's victory. While Lucknow Super Giants performed well in the match and secured a big win, SRH's batsmen need to work harder this time keeping their game in mind.

Punjab Kings Defeat Gujarat Titans by 11 Runs in a Thrilling Encounter…!

 Punjab's Thrilling Victory…!

At the Narendra Modi Stadium, Punjab Kings secured a thrilling 11-run victory over Gujarat Titans, bringing a memorable match for their fans. The game was packed with explosive batting, accurate bowling, and moments of high pressure. Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings put on an extraordinary display of skill and approach.

Punjab’s Explosive Start with the Bat

After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans opted to field first. Punjab Kings opened with young batters Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh. However, Prabhsimran fell early to Kagiso Rabada. In came captain Shreyas Iyer, making his determination clear by smashing a boundary on his first ball.

Priyansh and Iyer built a strong partnership, adding 50 runs in just 20 balls. But Rashid Khan's sharp googly dismissed Priyansh for a fiery 47 off 23 deliveries. Gujarat’s bowlers tried to recover control as Sai Kishore took two key wickets in one over, dismissing umarjai and Glenn Maxwell.

Shreyas Iyer Leads Punjab to a Massive Total

Despite wickets falling at the other end, Shreyas Iyer held steady, securing the innings while accelerating at the right moments. He reached his half-century in just 27 balls, confirming Punjab stayed on track for a big total.

The final five overs saw Punjab’s batters release an attack, adding 87 runs to the tally. Iyer played an incredible knock, scoring 97 off just 42 balls. However, in its place of focusing on his personal milestone, he unselfishly allowed Shashank Singh to take the strike and accelerate the scoring. Shashank did not disappoint, hitting 44 runs off just 16 balls. Punjab Kings finished with a grand 243/5 in their 20 overs.

'Gujarat Titans' Aggressive Chase

Chasing 244, Gujarat Titans began with captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan at the crease. They started carefully, calculating the pitch before launching into an aggressive attack. The duo notched up a fifty-run partnership in quick time. However, to accelerate further, Gill misjudged a shot and was caught off Glenn Maxwell’s bowling in the final over of the powerplay.

Sai Sudharsan continued his attacking approach and brought up his fifty in just 31 balls. Alongside Jos Buttler, he kept Gujarat in the hunt. But Shreyas Iyer, displaying sharp captaincy, introduced his premier bowler Arshdeep Singh, who dismissed Sudharsan for 72 in the 13th over.

Punjab Seals Victory Despite Gujarat’s Late Fightback

Despite losing key wickets, Gujarat declined to back down. Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford kept the chase active with aggressive stroke play. Buttler completed his half-century in the 18th over but was soon cleaned up by Marco Jansen. With two overs to go, Gujarat needed a big finish.

In the final over, Arshdeep Singh delivered under pressure. Tewatia was run out on the very first ball, and moments later, Rutherford was bowled by a perfect yorker, sealing Punjab’s victory. Gujarat Titans finished at 232/5, falling short by 11 runs.

This match will be remembered for its exciting batting performances and critical strategic decisions. Shreyas Iyer’s self-sacrificing leadership and Punjab’s all-round performance confirmed a well-earned victory, launching their position in the IPL.

Punjab Kings' Royal Innings : Shreyas’ Template Knock and Explosive Batting..!

Punjab Kings' Royal Innings : Shreyas’ Template Knock and Explosive Batting..!

At the Narendra Modi Stadium, Punjab Kings delivered a truly royal performance, leaving fans excited with a thrilling display of cricket. Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first, but what followed was a remarkable batting masterclass from Punjab.

Shreyas Iyer - A Captain’s Masterclass

Leading from the front, Punjab Kings’ captain Shreyas Iyer played an extraordinary knock. He set the tone right from the first ball, smashing a boundary and announcing his intent. Joining with Priyansh Arya, he stitched a 50-run stand in just 20 balls, giving Punjab a flying start. Even as wickets fell at the other end, Iyer continued calm, reaching his fifty in just 27 balls. He then converted gears, taking 24 runs off a Prasidh Krishna over and smashing two massive sixes off Rashid Khan.

In the final five overs, Punjab scored 87 runs, with Iyer playing a key role. He continued unbeaten on 97 off 42 balls, just three runs short of a well-deserved century. However, in an unselfish act of leadership, he prioritized the team’s total over personal milestones, encouraging Shashank Singh to take the big shots in the last over. This decision showed his team-first mentality, setting a new "template" for leadership-team success over personal glory.

Priyansh Arya’s Aggressive Yet Unfinished Knock

Young opener Priyansh Arya gave Punjab a fiery start together with Iyer. He got a lucky break early on when Arshad Khan dropped his catch in the second over, and he made the most of it. His 23-ball 47 was crucial in helping Punjab reach 73/1 by the end of the powerplay. However, his promising innings was cut short when he misread a googly from Rashid Khan and was caught out. Despite missing out on a fifty, his aggressive approach put a solid foundation for Punjab’s massive total.

Shashank Singh’s Late-Over controller

As the innings neared its climax, Shashank Singh took charge, delivering a brutal assault in the final overs. He remained unbeaten on 44 off just 16 balls, ensuring Punjab finished with a mammoth total. His fireworks were especially evident in the last over, where he smashed 23 runs, validating Iyer’s decision to let him take the big hits. Shashank’s fearless hitting provided the perfect finishing touch to Punjab’s innings.

Gujarat’s Bowlers Struggle, But Sai Kishore Shines

Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit had a tough day, despite early efforts from Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada. Their bowlers struggled due to some untidy fielding in the initial overs, allowing Punjab to capitalize. However, Sai Kishore was the standout performer for Gujarat. He brought his team back into the contest in the 11th over, dismissing both Umarzai and Glenn Maxwell in repeated deliveries. His spell temporarily shifted the momentum, but Punjab’s powerful finish safeguarded Gujarat continued the back foot.

Punjab Kings ‘Kings-Style’ Dominance

With a massive total of 243/5, Punjab Kings truly lived up to their name, playing a royal innings that will be remembered for a long time. Shreyas Iyer’s leadership, Shashank Singh’s explosive finish, and Priyansh Arya’s courageous batting made it a night to remember. The team’s commitment to collective success over individual records showcased the spirit of championship mentality-team above all.

SRH's batsmen completely dominated Rajasthan's bowlers. Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Tikshana, Sandip Singh, and others failed to stop the attack. While they did pick up wickets, they were not effective enough. SRH scored 94 runs in the powerplay and over 150 runs in the first 10 overs, putting Rajasthan's bowlers to a simple test.
Captain Riyan Parag tried changing the bowling strategies to comfort the pressure on his team, but the bowlers failed to execute their plans effectively.

Conclusion

With a massive total of 286/6, SRH put up a challenging target for Rajasthan. Ishan Kishan’s century made the game memorable. Rajasthan's bowlers made crucial mistakes, and SRH took full advantage of them. For Rajasthan to win, they will need a similarly explosive performance from their batsmen.

"Path to victory or a repeat of failure? RCB's Quest for glory in IPL 2025."

RCB's failed management - "Path to victory or a repeat of failure? RCB's Quest for glory in IPL 2025."

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is one of the biggest brands in the IPL, but even after 17 seasons, their trophy shortage is not over. Despite having a star player like Virat Kohli, the team continues to face failures, the main reason behind this is failed management and lack of planning.

Failed captaincy changes and lack of leadership

RCB changed several captains from 2008 to 2025 -

Rahul Dravid (2008)

Kevin Pietersen (2009)

Anil Kumble (2010)

Daniel Vettori (2011-2022)

Virat Kohli (2013-2021)

Faf du Plessis (2022-2024)

Rajat Patidar (2025)

The team kept changing captains without showing long-term faith in the leadership. Virat Kohli was given all the responsibilities single-handedly, and did not prepare a suitable replacement after he left.

Wrong player selection and inability

RCB has always had world-class batsmen, but bowling and all-rounders have been the main issue of their failure.

Poor bowling :- RCB lost bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rashid Khan, Mitchell Starc. Since there are no good bowlers in the team, the responsibility of winning matches lies just with the batsmen.

Loss due to mistakes in selection of new players :- RCB's special feature is to buy players at high prices every year and release them without giving them a proper chance.

Expensive players, but zero results

RCB spent a lot of money in the 2025 auction

Josh Hazlewood - ₹12.5 crore

Phil Salt - ₹11.5 crore

Jitesh Sharma - ₹11 crore

Bhuvneshwar Kumar - ₹10.75 crore

These players have quality, but will they be game-changers for the team? The team has a history of spending money only on big names without thinking about it.

Wrong returns and hasty decisions

Retaining the wrong players and releasing the right ones :-  Players like KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Marcus Stoinis, were released even though they were in the team and then these same players became match winners for other teams.

Wasting young players :-  Players like Devdutt Padikkal, Mohammed Siraj, Shivam Dube were not handled properly.

Ignoring player injuries :- Injuries of Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, Siraj were not addressed on time, as a result the team's bowling was always weak.

Wrong strategy at the wrong time

Excluding players with good form :- Players who performed well are not given a place in the final team.

Failure to maintain the pace in the middle overs :- The team always tries to increase the pace of runs in the last overs, but fails in it.

Poor bowling changes :- The captain often changed bowlers at the wrong time and lost the match.

Conclusion

RCB has remained a 'big name, fake character' type of team. Mistakes in team management, wrong selection of players, negligence in bowling and lack of leadership are repeating the team's failures. Only if the team devises the right strategy, trusts the right players, and strengthens the bowling, then only the dream of 'Ee Sala cap Naam De' can come true.
